When Apple added a camcorder to the iPod Nano the resounding response was: “Nice camera. Wrong iPod.” Everyone expected the iPod Touch to be the rightful heir of the iPhone’s tiny but mighty video recording capability. To be in the public eye and to be envied and have people who hate you and never have met you or have people who love you and tattoo your face on their body and never have met you, it’s an odd feeling for anybody. First Yemeni-Canadian representing Ottawa at Miss Universe
OTTAWA, March 17 /CNW/ - Maria Al-Masani is the first Yemeni Canadian representing Ottawa, competing with 50 Canadians for Miss Universe Canada. She’s the first Yemeni citizen ever competing at Miss Universe.
“I grew up wearing a niqab, watching Miss Universe on TV. I love breaking stereotypes!” says Al-Masani, a documented direct descendent of Prophet Mohammed.
Yemen is a conservative Islamic country better known for the underwear bomber.
