Graduating in Maple Leaf Gardens [The Eyeopener]: Not much of a story, about how Ryerson University convocation might move to the new hockey area being rigorously renovated, but the accompanying photo gallery of the makeover is worth a few clicks — including issues of Erotic X-Film magazine found amidst the rubble. Ryerson’s part of the renovation is scheduled for completion next spring.

Open letter to the community [Pride Week 2010]: Kerfuffle over the implication that Pride Toronto would institute a policy “to review and approve all messaging” expressed in the annual parades quietly ends with an official statement that they won’t be doing that. Freelance Writers Wanted [Demand Studios]: Web content company whose assignments are determined by an algorithm scanning search engine queries for elusive topics — subject of a story in the October 2009 issue of Wired which terrified newspaper purists and salaried hacks alike — extends its tentacles to Canada via Jeff Gaulin’s job board, offering between $15 and $25 per 300-word assignment plucked from their endless list, feeding their sites like eHow.com. But, they no doubt pay writers twice a week as promised, and assure the faceless copy editors “will make sure it meets U.S. Associated Press style guidelines.”
